Luci Phurr’s Imps “This is a mistake, right?” #7

I absolutely LOVE the lighting effect in the first panel on this strip.  Tracy really excelled herself on this one.  I immediately knew JUST the kind of night this was, based on that lamppost glow.

As for the joke in this strip, if you’re unfamiliar with the work of Mr. Boll, I strongly recommend you stay that way.

If you’re a fan of the director, you have my pity.

If you’re are the director, STOP IT!

I loved House of the Dead. The bullet time rendering of a woman jumping in the air to fire a twelve gauge was CLASSIC. I thought I was going to die from laughing when I looked at my wife and reminded her that I had said that nothing good could come from bullet time. Uwe Boll proved just that.

I think it was the White-Board (A shameless plug for a great web-comic) that had the best think did the best thing possible with Mr Boll in it when Doc smashed Boll’s head in with a mallet, unfortunately it destroyed the mallet, so we must honor it for its valiant self sacrifice.

A minutes silence for the demise of a tool.

Heh, anything that bad becomes great when properly MYST3Ked. And btw, your warning actually made me curious about boll. Those are seven minutes of my life I will never get back.

I know what you were thinking. Something like, “How can this guy make all these bad movies? I mean, if they were REALLY that bad, surely no one would let him do it again. Since they DO let him keep doing it, there must be SOMETHING redeeming about his body of work,” right?

But NOOOOOOOOOOO. It’s like some enormous cosmic practical joke being played on us.

Something that not even a MYST3K can redeem…are we sure that Uwe Boll’s films are one of mankind’s selfmade disasters? That seems more like something our infernal friends would concoct.

From what I have seen, he is more than willing to stand-by and claim his… um… well… er… unique vision!

If our Sulfurous Associates ARE involved my guess would be that they’re bankrolling him. No SANE person would, and by giving him the cash, they spread the misery.

Only a demon would want to see a new Boll movie. Im pretty sure that there actually the preferred method of eternal torture in hell.

I actually found the link to that specific comic in question: Enjoy you tenderized Boll.

Love where you are going with this comic, great style, keep it up.

I think the prayer is that if you give him enough chances you’ll get another Sam Raimi. Keep in mind Raimi went from making cult classics like Evil Dead, Dead by Dawn, and Army of Darkness; to making the Spider Man movies. Of course Raimi had the help of always working with three friends from high school who he had been making movies with even then. Fun fact about Sam Raimi movies, his old car (I believe it was his first car period) is in everyone of them if you know where to look.
On the other paw I don’t think Boll has anyone with that kind of loyalty to him to grow with him.

I’m thinking we might need to go and have a closer look at the life and “works” or Mr. Boll in a future strip.

My god…THEY’RE INVADING A CINEMA?! “pulls out my boomstick and gets ready to hunt some demons for my trophy wall”

LOL, I LOVE going to the movies so demons interrupting me in the middle of Ironman 2 would just lead to trouble…for them! 👿

And if I don’t catch the little buggers, Mr. Hulk Hogan will! 😈

  13. Byakugan01

It’s a Uwe Boll movie. Their interruption would have greater entertainment value than the movie itself. Put away that boomstick!

Reading the previous comments, I am, apparently, happy to have never heard of Uwe Boll. (Is he any relation to the Boll Uweevil? Just asking!)

This strip would have been good as a GIF, because the marquee lights blinking on/off would be cool!
GIF allows one to change only the [rectangle enclosing the] affected area. That is, the file contains the original image, and the changes—GIF is not like a movie, in which each frame must contain all new content. I expect thirty “frames” (Their timings are variable!) would prevent that “Aw! It’s the same old thing, repeating over and over!” reaction, which is caused by a small number of changes of which the repetition is excessively obvious!

The street-lamp glow is the greatest! Lo-o-o-ove it!

I am happy that I have no clue as to who he is.

    Uwe Boll is awesome!
    What are you talking about???
