Luci Phurr’s Imps “Cookies & the Call Center” #3

Fascinating Fact #274: This strip was inspired by someone on the team here having some kinda stomach flu.  The entire little story about selling the cookies grew from this one very gross idea that if you couldn’t keep anything down, having something that at least tasted OK the second time would be the way to go.

Hey, no one said the creative process was pretty; and I doubt anyone had this specific scenario in mind when they said, “Write what you know”.

Okay, not what i expected. Never had that problem though. Do they really make you throw up.

  2. Byakugan01

and coincidentally, I had a stomach virus not two weeks ago. NOT fun AT ALL.

  3. dale_mettam

Eat too much of anything and you’re gonna make yourself feel sick.

Sorry you weren’t feeling good a couple of weeks ago… didn’t try the choco-minty cookies, I’m guessing. 😀

  4. Byakugan01

Hell, I couldn’t keep down WATER for the first day. Ended up finally being able to drink ginger ale by late evening. Of course by then I was feeling a tad dehydrated, and discovered that even if the medication makes your stomach more tolerant…that does not apply when you cram large ammounts of a single substance in it all at once.

The reply to those details started to turn into a “Yeah? You think YOU were sick, lemme tell you about the time…” and has been removed for your safety.

Not to mention someone, somewhere is probably eating as they read this, and we don’t wanna get the bill to replace their computer equipment.

well pain got over that quickly didnt he? he does have a point though, but it has its flaws what with bile and all that good digestive stuffs. But i wonder how luci is gonna take to her little pals eating her stock… also, how has she kept them a secret from her parents? or do they just think them grotesque toys she found one day? (realized i havent been doing good by my title lately =P)

  7. dale_mettam

    Answers… kinda.

Depends on the choco-minty-goodness to “digestive stuffs” ratio.

The rest of the Cookies part of this story arc will address the way the Imps make good on this.

How the Imps are seen by others will be addressed in the next story arc called “Bully for you.”

Okay, I’ll bite. How does pain eat without chewing? Or does he just not need mollars to chew his food…

  9. dale_mettam

Already explained here. Bet you’re sorry you asked now, right?

  10. Tegger the ORWA tankengine

just realized the third panel is VERY close to my badge…hmmm…o_O coincidence?

  11. dale_mettam

WOW! That is a really spooky coincidence! Almost like someone cropped, de-chocolated and added a circle of text to that very panel. Weird.

  12. Tegger the ORWA tankengine

im sensing sarcasm…NAW! just my imagination! still wierd though! =P

BWEHEHEHEHE!!! As much as I love those Thin Mints, this strip had me laughing so hard, because I actually did that once. As a kid, I ate a whole BOX of thin mints. Oh boy was I sick afterwards xD

And to Wednesday’s comment about The value of education… LUCKY YOU. Freaking 300million budget cut to Georgia’s University System… *grumble* It makes me want to hit the people responsible.

  14. dale_mettam

Sarcasm? Me? Nah. I even had to check the spelling in the dictionary it’s so alien to me. (Interesting side note: there’s a picture of me next to the word sarcasm. 😀 )

And anyone who has experienced the darkside’s “chocolate fountain” has my sympathy.

And y’know I was so worried this all might get too low brow. I’m glad we all managed to keep this classy (just in case, see the above side note. BWAH HA HA HA HA HAR!)

  15. midga

Well, just discovered the comic and I gotta say I’m intrigued thus far. Was a bit sad to realize you only started recently so I didn’t have stacks of archives to go through, but I’m looking forward to more! 😀

  16. dale_mettam

Well we’re always glad to be discovered. We have a lot in the pipeline and I’m hoping to share something new that will give you a little more to look at soon. So if you don’t have much old stuff to pore over, you do have a lot to look forward to.

(I’m reliably informed that wading through the comments section that grew from the strips is worth the time… if you want a little extra… while we catch-up on that back-catalog 😀 )

  17. kitty

    *blinkblink* he…he has a point…

  18. dale_mettam

    His logic is frightening.

  19. charliez

I am sure Pain will learn in time the downsides of a few of his actions.

  20. Visagor

Try the peanut butter chocolate ones.

  21. wraithendream
