CHECK IT OUT, DAWG! Randy Jackson* here, taking a few minutes away from American Idol† to tell you guys in the DAWG POUND that my friends here at Luci Phurr’s Imps have lined up some wicked entertainment for you. Granted, Courtney was a little pitchy, but MAN I am REALLY diggin’ the efforts these guys are going to keep it real. Click on the regular vote button or the DOPE link below to get some extra love from these guys by way of something extra you can see ONLY by voting today! Then there’s the IMPosters. You can get your own character, immortalized in the world of Luci Phurr’s Imps. And best of all, you simply need to join in the fun on the comments section here and you’re in with a chance of becoming your own IMP! GIVE IT UP for the LPI Team! For the first time this season I feel like this thing is ON!
* Not THAT Randy Jackson. Just a dude we know at the 7-11 who’s shares the name.
† Watching, not judging.
I think them boys on the phone are scared.
Hell!!! I’m scared just thinking about that kind of muzak while on hold
Never underestimate the power of an individual. Especially if that individual is too stupid to realize just how much the odds are stacked against him.
FEAR THE MUSAK!
Love the incentive! LOL! Thanks for that.
Glad you liked it. It’s just the first of many more to come.
So just how many minutes HAS he withstood it?
I believe he’s entered a Twilight Zone-esque region of the universe where time no longer functions in the way you think it should. And I have hard science to back-up that theory.
Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle states that you can never know exactly where AND when an object is at the same moment. If you know the exact time of an event, the where becomes fuzzy – if you know the exact location, the time becomes fuzzy.
Since we KNOW that Lou is on the phone and on hold listening to (or actually oblivious to… and thus inadvertently saving his own sanity) musak, we therefore lose a solid grasp on all things temporal.
Ain’t Theoretical Quantum Physics great!? 😀
Indeed it is! And I love my Imp, BTW-I see you even remembered the earplugs! And just why are there corpses in Luci’s backyard…
Today’s incentive deserves to be turned in a series of strips, but frankly this call center gag would likely have been better as a one-panel incentive.
Glad you liked your IMPoster. 😀
I recall seeing a documentary a while back, about a housing development that was built on an old graveyard where they just removed the headstones but left the bodies (I know, you’d think someone laying a water-main or digging footings would have made found a puzzling femur… a skull… at the very least a couple of ribs, but what ya gonna do?) and in the end there was as swimming pool with floating corpses and a freaky old lady who was like 4′ 2″ and a TV set that had a monster in the white noise. I’m assuming if that kinda thing can happen in real life, the Phurr family moved into a development just like that one.
Happy the incentive comic pleased, as well. Perhaps the Call Center is a little TOO Hellish and close to real life to be as funny as zombies and stuffed toys. We’ll make a note of that for future strips… telephones = bad – zombified children’s toys that taint happy childhood memories = good.
You’re probably gonna hate our winter series… 18 weeks of Alexander Graham Bell’s encounter with the Imps and how Samuel Morse outsourced the DASHES to the Arapaho in a desperate attempt to save money on the fledgling telegraph service. Hopefully the Bonus Comics will sustain yo through that trying time. 😀
Quite the amusing comic you have going on here! I’ve been loving the progress of it all, and am getting a huge chuckle off the call centre routine. Keep up the awesome job! 😉
Thanks. We’re workin’ hard to make this a fun read and there is an awesome team behind this. Glad you’re enjoying it.
I still Love the comic Guys,
Court you should also design a plushy from The Stuffie in the backyard.
Just saying I would want one ; )
S’all good. If you don’t like one story, come back next week and there’ll be something else.
SPOILER ALERT next week we’re running a story about Pagers. 😀
And I agree, I want a Mr. Fluffbert Fluffington. But only if we can get him made from a material that looks kinda like it’s just been dug-up.
xDDDD
I haven’t listened to it for 17 minutes straight yet. I think I’ll try that! Wish me luck?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You guys rock my sox! Keep up the great work!
Yes Chibi, you should do that…that way, you will become an avatar of the ULTIMATE EVIL! Or your brain will melt, but’s that only a minor side effect (so long as I’m not directly exposed).
We’ve created a MONSTER!!!!
Sox rockin’ is what we’re all about.
That and comics about evil and Muzak.
i barely lasted 2 minutes…that song needs to be ENDED!! but who has the power to do such a thing!? wait… ipanima? impania…impmania…imp mania!! O_o of course! it all makes sense now!
What, you think I just make this crazy stuff up?
OK, in fairness, usually I do. But not about this. No siree. Not this time.
My problem with the call center isn’t that it is too hellish. It is that as I said four strips back, I actually like “The Girl from Ipanema”.
Well I suppose someone has to. Don’t worry though, we’re all very accepting here. We won’t judge you because of it.
Anyone who might think they saw tomorrow’s strip today, you are NOT going crazy.
OK, you MIGHT be going crazy, but this is not symptom.
I may, or may not have gotten all giddy and wrapped up in the new IMPosters and the new Incentive Monday fun and games to check the release date schedule to ensure it system released Wednesday’s strip on Wednesday.
That said, I am TOTALLY blaming Courtney for the screw-up. Or Imps.
Apologies for any confusion.
well…im just glad im not completely crazy…yet…
Give us time. We’re working on it.
And I’ll help! If you ask my friend, I can come up with some VERY good sanity-destroying mental images…
Always good to have some special skills in the back-pocket.
i feel so loved!
And y’ know, that love is TOTALLY reciprocal.
It a totally above-board, platonic way, obviously.
Don’t wanna go picking out curtains or anything.
No,nonononononono! I, I finished the comic already? Dammit! I need an archive binge!
Don’t look on it as a bad thing. Look on it that you get to go on an adventure with us from the start. 😀
Still chugging away at the old strips and while I will eventually run out, I will be sticking around for more laughs, giggles, and seeing the torments the Imps will suffer and begat.
I have found that the song isn’t quite so bad as a classical piece…..
