Luci Phurr’s Imps “Cookies & the Call Center” #14

Fascinating Fact #1987b: In the original ending to the movie “Wall Street” Glenn Close set up a faked scene-of-the-crime to make it look like Michael Douglas’s character killed her, with a twist ending that Jeff Bridge’s character really did committed the murder, but was in actual fact an alien who merely looked like her dead husband.  The decision was made to re-cut the movie to the ending you can see today because test screenings felt that ending was both unsatisfying and made absolutely no sense what-so-ever.

Oh, oh my. That’s… a LOT of money.

Oh and Wells Gofar? I snickered and then facepalmed. Nice.

  2. dale_mettam

“Snicker then facepalm.” The exact reaction we were aiming for.

  3. Salisria

Given my experience with them since they took over Walk-over-ya (aka Wachovia), I can understand why the imps are using them to move the money.

  4. Alyshazzar

The funny thing is I could actually picture Oliver Stone coming up with an ending that convoluted…

I mean, I’m not the only one who saw JFK, right?

Was also amused by the not-so-subtle wordplay.

here a bit o trivia for you folks did y ou know the term riding shotgun came from wells fargo stage coach drivers i say drives cuz there was two of them one to drive the horse adn one to litteraly ride shotgun as he carried a remmington 12gauge side by side double barrel shotgun to fend of indians or would be robers who dared to get that close

I Apologise, but it has to be done:

O-ho the Wells Gofar Wagon is a-comin’ down the street,
Oh please let it be for me!
O-ho the Wells Gofar Wagon is a-comin’ down the street,
I wish, I wish I knew what it could be!

If Avarice has the kind of personality I think he does, how much do you want to bet it’s all in pennies? Just my $.02 on that.

Now if only everyone could have imps to do that for them. Only thing is you know something’s going to end up happening with it all, and it’s likely not to be a good thing. And thank you for the Wednesday Wierdness Bonus Comic, they have been awesome and it’s nice to see an artist that shows appreciation to their readers. Keep up the great work!

So yeah, um…Dale is out of town today, with limited internet access. Normally I’m sketching away at my desk, while periodically checking the site to see what wisecrack comments Dale is spewing. Looking back at previous pages I realized that he responds to pretty much, every comment. And when he comments, it often times provokes even more comments. And it goes on and on until we have a page full of hilarious comments from both Dale and the fans/readers. I personally enjoy reading ya’lls (forgive the language, I live in Texas) comments as much or more than the strip itself. No offense to Dale, of course. But, I do find myself laughing so much at all of the clever and witty comments made. And without Dale here to instigate further comments, it’s kind of quiet. And to be honest…I LOVE IT!!!! It gives me a chance to take the stage and say “thanks” to you guys/gals for hanging around and hopefully enjoying the strips. Dale and I are still relatively new to the webcomic scene, and we realize that there’s gonna be some snags along the way, as we try to learn. But through trial and error, we hope to produce something solid enough to keep you coming back. And even if the product does become stagnant, please know that it’s all Dale’s fault, and that I would still like for you guys/gals to lounge around the site. Like I mentioned before, your comments and responses are half of what makes the site fun for me to return to. :) But in all seriousness, Dale and I very much appreciate everyone hanging out and helping keep things entertaining. And, we’re working on future story lines, possible apparel and merchandise, and anything else that might assist in keeping LPI enjoyable for everyone. Oh, and we also have several Imposter images complete that will be up for viewing in the coming weeks(as a way to show our appreciation to you all). So be on the look out! I don’t get out much, so please pardon this being so long. I had to get all of this in before Dale regains internet access, and overshadows me again. :)

I actually just started reading three days ago, I love what you guys have going here, so it’s nice to read comments from the people behind it.

  11. keylaleigh

Aww! I’m really glad we’re making you happy! If not that, what else are we here for?

And now that you mentioned merchandise, I wanna make Misfortune and Tears hats. If only I knew how to make hats…
    Time to get learning!

  12. Dangerdoll

That was way too long. I want Dale back he keeps me in stitches! Kidding Courtney! Both you guys rock! :)

  13. dale_mettam

Wow, Courtney. A 20,000 word essay to say “Hey LPI readers! You guys are AWESOME and we love your input and comments that make this a real solid little community.”

    And I’m the one who won’t shut-up???

  14. Melkior

Is it just me, or does Tears actually look a lot like Gumby? 😉

  15. dale_mettam

Keylaleigh, you should see my beanie hat designs. One for each of the three Imps.

  16. keylaleigh

Ooh! You’re ahead of me! I was just designing them last night and wondering how I was going to make them.

  17. Courtney Huddleston

Darn Starbucks WiFi let Dale out of his cage too soon. There goes the neighborhood.:/ :)

  18. dale_mettam

Hey folks, I realized that you all got the bonus comic that had a typo in it. I feel really bad about that. We make all kinds of efforts to not make flubs. Sorry guys.

And Keylaleigh, my hat design is nothing solid. Go wild. I wouldn’t have a clue how to make mine anyways.

  19. charliez

Well as I am late catching up on the action, I am a little sad that I missed out on those bonus comics. Unless they are stored somewhere else on the site? Well as always getting laughs from the commentary as well as the comics.
