AGM#22

OK, I know what you’re thinking.  The whole issue raised by the Shipping Imp is kind of a good message, right?  How does that fit in Hell and all the less-than-good stuff they specialize in.  However, you gotta remember two things.

First, Hell has been around for a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time, and (as I think we’ve mentioned before) if you’ve ever worked in a place that has been around for a while, red tape and official procedures tend to build up and stay around way beyond their usefulness.

Second, and more important, Hell specializes in the petty annoyances.  Sure, this is getting in the way of Mr. D’s masterplan, but at the same time I feel confident in predicting that purple imp is gonna get a nice bonus this year.

In other news…

Other BIG NEWS!

And by BIG NEWS, we mean EPIC!!!! (yes, FOUR exclamation mark epic)

Check out the bonus comic to see what we’re planning… then let us know what you think.

Ahh, red tape…whatever would we do without you?

  2. Darkdrake

    Where is the cat?

  3. dale_mettam

@Darkdrake – My assumption was that either Mr. Butterpaws Pussford was hunkered down in the bottom of the basket (he is pretty small) because a) he’s been through the Hell Mailroom before and knows that he really needs to be strapped in and have his tray table in the up and locked position; or b) he’d gone to use the litterbox before the journey started (it’s going to be a long ride and as everyone knows, it’s always better to “go” before you leave.

Hey, there’s a PCA in my comic!
There’s a comic in my PCA!

  5. Ragedoll

Lol mailing things is probably hell’s best creation! Crazy amounts of red tape!
Although I am curious why he has to Mail him, I mean he’s Mr. D after all couldn’t he just fwoop the Mr. Butterpaws back to Luci?

But more importantly! FIVE DAYS?!?!?!?! Awesome! what a wicked Christmas present!! yay! You guys all rock!

  6. dale_mettam

@Ragedoll – Yeah, there is FWOOPing… but that takes an awful lot of psychometaphysical energy and the greater the evil (or good) of the individual attempting to “take a short cut” the more actual energy is needed. I believe it’s covered in one of the lesser known additional notes to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. The imps have lower levels of innate evil so they can do it easier.

Y’ know… and this way seemed funnier. 😀

    And yeah, FIVE DAYS.

  7. Darkwasteland

2011 is not going to get here fast enough.

  8. Palmetto

Shipping Imp isn’t fooling anyone. He just doesn’t want to try to get Mr. BP into a cat carrier.

  9. LydaLynn

    Aww – poor shark!

  10. Byakugan01

So who is more evil then Dale? Mr. Butterpaws Pussford or Mr. D.?

  11. dale_mettam

@Byahugan – Well, thus far we HAVE seen Mr Butterpaws Pussford FWOOP. We have NOT seen Mr. D. Draw your own conclusions.

  12. DktrAgonizer

I wasn’t aware cats could make soup. Then again, Mr. BP is from Hell…

Also, five days a week? SO EXCITE!

  13. Dangerdoll

Reminds me of that old Hollywood video commercial. *sings & dances* 5 Days!!!!!

  14. Kiriel

YAY more Impness sooon 83 *dances*

  15. jjmblue7

*Happy dances for LPI 5-DAYS A WEEK!*

  16. Ouroboros

    Awesome, five days a week!

Mr. D should just personally deliver the cat himself…in fact, he could turn Pain into the basket!

I can’t wait to see what kind of revenge Mr. Butterpaws has in store…

  17. dale_mettam

Thanks jjmblue… but pretty much all the things in the strip are a weird hybrid of ideas and concepts that Courtney and I kick around. He shares half the glory. And none of the things would look as good without Matt, Tracy and Celina. Really is a team effort.

  18. comichero

I have to say im hesitant of the move to 5 days a weeks 3 seems to be the perfect balace give us time to really enjoy your guys work and enjoy eachothers company and kickaround some of our own ideas about whats goingto hppen next and i do believe the good team at LPI-studios feeds off of our collective energy as much as we feed of them , also im curious if my request for baked good from tracy ever got sent?

  19. dale_mettam

@comichero – To set your mind at ease I’ve written, in full, the scripts through to July 15th of next year. The scripts through to September 9th are plotted and in development and the rest of the year is already in place and planned. Over and above that, we had too many ideas for the year and have at least three story arcs locked in for 2012 plus a big story arc that will run over the entire year of 2012. Art has the first month done entirely and the next three months are working through the art team as we speak. So no need to worry that we’ll run out of ideas, or burn up the energy we get from you all. We have it all in hand.

As for your interaction… well, you can still swing by on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays just like before, there will just be extra strips to read and soak in when you do. That said, most of the regular posters in the comments section seem to pop in even on days when we don’t post a new strip, so those guys will get some extra goodness as well.

Baked goods have been dispatched via the Hell Mail Room. Expect them in around 5 years.

Hope that sets your mind at ease.

Wow – ya’ll sound prolific – that’s totally awesome – I don’t know how you do it. Heck – I don’t know how you manage to have so many people working together regularly – I havn’t had much luck with my few forays into trying to create comics – I love to write – but finding artists who work on a regular schedule instead of disappearing . . . Major kudos to your whole team for being so amazing and working together so well.

  21. dale_mettam

@ LydaLynn – Build and maintain a health stock of incriminating photographs and you’ll have a team in no time.
