There’s a very cynical vibe creeping into this story arc.
Everything you’d expect from Luci Phurr’s Imps!
jones-in for the jonesy i never did do that nor am i envious of others and the things they have, i did how ever enjoy spreading chistamas cheer when me and the christmas spirit were dating
I knew it!
OK, I feel a little embarrassed that you guys got this on Monday… we could have almost skipped this strip.
Of course, the art (and color work especially) make it worth the price of admission.
Truth be told, this is one of the first LPI strips I wrote over a year ago (this was gonna be one of the first stories we ran… but we decided to postpone it) and I had no idea just how smart and savvy our readers would be at that point.
haha it’s wonderful! He’s such a creepy imp! : )
*has nothing of import to say*
The lighting is really beautiful in this strip! ^_^
Although I feel a little left out because I don’t get the Jonesy thing…
Check it out, folks….
@MagicalMadge: Think of the phrase “Keeping up with the Jones’ “… It’s all about conspicuous consumption. After all, who install another layer of insulation in the attic just because a neighbor did it!
…oddly enough I never really felt the urge to keep up with anything anyone else was doing…then again, I live in a subterranean dwelling…so there you go…
Oh! I get it now! I’m a little slow some days… 😛
You know, though I know OF the habit of keeping up with certain people, I’ve never actually heard that phrase before. Oh, the things nobody tells me… XD
And I agree that the lighting in today’s page is awesome.
I thought I would share this holiday snack recipe with my friends here:
Peppermint Bark Popcorn
Peppermint Bark Popcorn
16-20 C popped popcorn (fresh, or about 2 bags microwave popcorn) ( I use the Simply Salted or Natural flavor popcorn)
1 lb Almond or Vanilla Bark
1 6oz box candy canes, crushed. (About 1-1 1/2 C total and Bob’s are the best!) ( I just put them in a Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin or mallet)
2 tsp peppermint extract
3/4 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
Place popcorn in a very large mixing bowl. Dump the crushed candy canes onto the popcorn.
Melt the almond bark, following the instructions on the package. I just break it up and put it in a glass measuring cup and microwave on 1 min intervals until it’s nice and smooth.
When your almond bark is melted, add the peppermint extract. It might seize a little bit but it’s totally fine. Pour over popcorn and candycanes.
Stir it up really well until the candy is evenly distributed. Pour the popcorn out onto a piece of waxed paper, parchment, or foil. Spread it out into an even layer and leave it alone! ( I usually have 3 cookie sheets worth of popcorn spread out)
While the popcorn is setting, place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth.
Drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn. You can use a fork, or put it in a zip-lock bag with the corner cut off.
Leave it until the almond bark and the chocolate is hardened. If you need to hurry it up, do this whole process on lined cookie sheets you can pop in the fridge.
When chocolate is hardened, use your hands to break up popcorn into chunks. Enjoy!
Too much! So very seasonally appropriate!
I was talking about the strip btw, but Lydalynn’s recipe is appropriate too- lol
@LydaLynn: First Gingerbread Imps with hot chocolate, and now this. You are too good to us!
that’s an awesome recipe Lyda! I might have to try it!
MUST KEEP UP!
