I’m not the only kid who wanted to do the dig-to-China thing and have someone else point out the hard science that completely ruined it for me, right?
I only wish that back then, I had been knowledgeable enough to point out the layers of rock, minerals and other deposits that a plastic shovel would be completely useless against, between the beach and said molten core…. y’ know…. just to rain on their smug parade too.

I don’t think those layers of rock, minerals and other deposits are going to stop pain though…
I wonder how long it’ll take to reach China… knowing the imps, not long
I LOVE the look on Luci’s face in panel one!
Whatever beach their on better be ready for an unexpected volcano the way Pain is digging.
That crab wants to follow Pain. It’s thinking, “Woah, I wanna dig! I can digdigdigdig!”
I am thinnking in panel 1, Pain is doing something very nasty in that hole he just dug? Poor person who digs there next! And I am so in with Pain, just dig and dig and dig…New volcano on the beach would be cool!
As a kid, I’ve always thought that digging to China would be quite fun, but I was too lazy to do it anyway, so no one ever pointed that minor detail to me.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: Digging a whole on the beach can be fun, and a part of many childhoods. However, there are often safety concerns, resulting from a combination of the shifting nature of sand and the poor structural engineering skills of most children. Consequently each year several children are accidentally buried alive at the beach.
So remember kids…. if YOU are gonna dig to China, make sure you break up the beds and furniture in the hotel and build adequate support beams to prevent cave-ins. A canary in a cage can also help locate dangerous pockets of trapped gas too.
Unless that trapped gas is inside Dad…. and then you’re just gonna have to wait for the inevitable release and suffer like the rest of us.

Looks like Tears is having a whale of a time!
Hahahaha, Pain. Of course he’d be all over that plan. Also, Tears is adorable as usual.
Pain used dig! It’s super effective!
well it’s only a matter of creating a coolling system able to cope with temps of the core also finding and or creating a metal durable to with stand said temps fora long time I suggest one of the righteous metals dolomite it could withstand the heat and pressure for about 5 mins unaided add ina kick ass cooling sysingem and you could rock out all day down
also the problem with diggin striaght down is one you got deep enough like 9 feet it become really hard to toss the dirt up I had encountered this problem you’d need to set up a suffistcated bucket system to bring up and un laod the dirt
I recommend using a laser to bore a hole. it evaporates the dirt and rocks beneath you, but you’ll need a cooling system, both for the laser and the hole.
