OK, now in fairness this part IS pretty horrible. If you’ve ever tried to get one of the hotel rooms that are specifically linked to the con, you know exactly the kinda fun Tears has. I have heard of attendees who have resorted to taking a hotel room in Tijuana and taking the train up to the convention every day.
I’m not joking.

I wish I could go to a con.. D:
I drive but I”m lucky to live about 35 miles from con but Tears will get a real workout from people trying to park
one day….. one day i will be there. AND THEN THE WORLD WILL WEEP IN JOY AS MY GLORY RADIATES FROM MY MERE PRESENTS AT COMIC CON!!! Then i will smile
This SAME problem happens at ACEN near Chicago… NOBODY was able to get a hotel room for next year because there is a medical conference the SAME WEEK! Death, doom destruction…not necessarily in that order.
Btw, Tears would make an AWESOME plushie that cries when you squeeze him. 😉
@TheZombieBudda
…wait, you’re gonna be giving out PRESENTS?
YES!
…wait, would they be more along the line of “Horrible clothing”, “Cute baby animal”, or “OMG VIIIIIIIIDEEEEEOOOOOGAAAAAAAAAMES!”
Unfortunately…I’ve never been to a con. T_T I have, however, had the misfortune of having a flight cancelled, and needing to find a hotel in the middle of a holiday and a festival.
Tears…I saw you there.
I think Tears came back from SDCC with me. My first flight was supposed to take 45 minutes. Four and a half hours later I landed. It was not a fun time.
I made my reservations for GenCon in January and I still had to get a hotel half a mile from the con. All the attatched ones were 350 a night and up or booked. Course Tears will keep me company when I am walking around in corset and stilettos. I hate those shoes…
That’s why you camp out on the roof of the convention building.
…What?
No thanks, I got my fill of cons in the early days of Trek. Too many people taking their entertainment WAY too seriously.
When I finally go to a con I will get to see everything, things that I have only heard rumers about will finally be seen through my eyes.
from what i recall SD is a fairly safe city i mean if push came to shove you could camp out inthe city parks or just out side the city limits
LOL, oh so true, and hotels are rather expensive lets not forget!
It is easy to get a room. I got mine 2 weeks before I went to San Diego. Last minute thing. Twas nothing. What I did was get a house rental for a week. Folks rent out their houses. Rent a house with a bunch of friends. They are all over the place. We were 10 minutes from Downtown and in a nice comfy neighborhood 10 minutes from everything.
Couple of margaritas in the morning make that train ride from tiajuana ti San Diego kinda fun lol
