Heaven & Hell’s AGMs #01

Well, here we are starting a new story arc and we’ve done it on the Imps favorite day…. HALLOWEEN!

And to celebrate that, we have a BIG announcement (you can tell it’s big, ‘cos we used capital letters, went bold AND italic for the word big). Starting December 28th Tracy Bailey is stepping up to take over art duties on Luci Phurr’s Imps strips. If you need a refresher, check out the first week of our Guest Artists run and you’ll see why we’re really excited about this. We’re also dropping back to three days a week, which allows Tracy a little more time to make her amazing art rock even harder.

I know what you’re thinking.  “But without Courtney, who will Dale blame when something on the site breaks?”

Rest easy.  Courtney is still around and without the need to deliver a regular strip for you here, he’ll have extra time to start meddling and break stuff.  Additionally, Dale has already written ALL of the 2012 strips.  That means both Courtney and Dale have some extra time and are already making plans and working on a whole bunch of extra Luci Phurr’s Imps goodness (or badness, depending on your perspective) for you all.

I cant wait for mayhem the angels and Mr.D accomplish together.

  2. Kiriel

..Great you might have lost me then. I’ve always rather disliked her art style. x.x Sure, the story matters but just… yuck.

  3. Dale

@Kiriel – It IS great. We have some monster stories set for next year, with incredible art and Court and I are doing some extra LPI stuff that couldn’t happen otherwise. You won’t be disappointed… I personally guarantee it. And if you are, I’ll send Courtney around to clean your pool once a week.

  4. Aletheya

Mr. D!! Woohoo! I missed him.

  5. Zarvain

Soooo…we can blame Mr. Butterpaws for some of Kenny’s problems then?
I guess I can’t blame him for picking the kid to experiment/practice on, he never seems to be permanently brought down by such things after all.

  6. Dale

@Zarvain – As you know, I blame EVERYTHING in Courtney first. Regardless of any other factors. But in this case, you might be right. 😀

  7. Kiriel

@Dale, I still dislike that art style soo much though, plus no pool here 😉
Though having a Courtney to glomp might not be bad~ ;P

  8. Tracy

I’ve been having the best time working with Dale and Courtney on character designs and drawing from the hilarious scripts I’ve received, and I’d like to give a special thanks to Kiriel for her warm welcome and her overwhelming confidence. It makes all the long hours so worth it. 😀

Tracy I Love Love Love your work! You and Court are apples and oranges. You and Dale will rock our sox just in a different way. Not bad but different. Change can be hard to accept and adjust to , but I KNOW you will deliver 😀 ?

  10. Dale

    I’ve seen the art, Dangerdoll.

    BOY does Tracy deliver. 😀

Better than that other…. wait…. he can’t see this can he?

  11. Wowey

Tracy, so excited to hear that you’ll be doing the art for the Imps! Catena Manor was the first web comic I ever really read, so I’m excited that I’ll get to see your art again! Looking forward to it!

  12. Tracy

Thanks! And sarcasm aside, seeing as I’ve been doing the coloring since Day 1, I don’t see where the change will be THAT jarring. I’m perfectly capable of doing other things besides sparkly pink monstrosities and cats. XD

  13. Dale

    ME-DAMN-IT!

What am I supposed to do with the sparkly pink monstrosity and cat scripts now?

I never had this kinda trouble with the previous guy…. wait…. she can’t see this can she?

  14. Tracy

You knew what you were getting into when you asked me to marry — oh wait, that’s the other guy I work with. Never mind; carry on!

  15. Courtney

@Tracy: And I’ve never regretted a day since asking. Oh wait…

So yeah, having Tracy on board is gonna be great! How do I know? Well, because I hand picked her. Ok, maybe there was a little bit of begging involved, but the end result was still the same. I’ve had the fortune of seeing some of her pages, and the first thing that came to mind was some commercial I saw many years ago. I don’t remember the brand name, but the slogan went something like, “Move over bacon, now there’s something meatier.” Yes, the art was that humbling. In the meantime, I’ll be doing even more LPI stuff with Dale. So be ready for a whole bunch of evil goodness.

Hey Tracy, I quite liked the art you did for your guest week, so I’m looking forward to it as much as I’ll be sad to see Courtney’s regular strips go. Plus, as stated before, the bulgy eyes are so win.

I’m personally excited for the change-up. I’ve never really read Catena (the large archive kinda scared me) but I really like the art style from the first guest week.
